Port Aransas - Year 3

For the past several years, we have taken a family vacation to Port A in October with Tim's mom and brother - and his pop when schedule permits. This was Ainsley's third trip and maybe the first from which she'll actually remember anything.

She absolutely loves the beach and getting in the water. This makes days at the beach a little more intense for us, because while last year she had fun on the beach she was too afraid of the water to really go near it. So we could just sit back and watch her chase the seagulls. This year she wanted to be all up in the waves but she can't swim and her fear was minimal at best. There was a lot of, "Holy crap! She's heading for the water!"

The first challenge was the trip down there. It's easily a 3-1/2 to four hour drive without a two year old. That's a long trip for someone who doesn't typically sleep in the car. And of course we had to add in some stops for food and potty breaks:

The first day was really the only good day we had at the beach.



The next day, there were prospects of rain so we the morning at the state aquarium in Corpus Christi.

And we spent the afternoon at the bird center.

It was pretty cold after the rain so the next day we just wandered around town and spent a little time at the beach in warmer clothing.
