Eeek!

We are trying to supplement with formula today because Tim and I are going out of town this weekend and I don't have enough of a reserve to get Ainsley through the weekend. I'm very nervous because I'm afraid she'll have a bad reaction. I don't know why I think it will go badly, just part of the neuroses I guess. So here's to keeping our fingers crossed that it all goes well!

I hope it goes well, too! And happy anniversary. Try to enjoy your time away.

Bummer. I have loads of milk in my freezer - too bad I can't give you some. Just kidding - that's gross.

Yes, it does sound kinda gross. An added FYI: you can actually donate your milk. I'm not sure who receives it though. If I find the link again, I'll post it. Not that you want to, but it's interesting to check out.

Yeah, I've heard about milk donation and I think it's great, especially for babies in the NICU. Still, when Huz casually mentioned the other day that our friend (who has a baby 3 months younger than Claire and was babysitting for us) could breastfeed Claire in a pinch I freaked out. Uh, no! She can defrost MY milk and feed it to my baby! Get your boob away from my child! I really got territorial when he mentioned this. Is it just me?

By the way, hi I'm Victoria and I found you via Quarter Life Crisis. :) How old is Ainsley? Claire, as you saw, just turned 6 months. It's going soooo fast!

That is a totally different issue! They used to do it in the old days - you know, wet nurses and all - but if you have a stockpile, that's a much better, and less gross option.

Ainsley is 10-1/2 months old. How fun to say, "I remember six months old!"

And welcome Victoria (love the nom de plume).

You can donate your milk for women who are ill and have to take various meds (like chemo drugs) that don't allow them to breastfeed.

Hope it went well!
