- My brother Mitch is a cyclist. Normally he does the mountain biking thing - just recently earned his semi-pro license. But since it's the off season, he's been doing some road riding. Now I'm talking voluntary 5 hour, 100 mile rides in the Texas heat....ugh! So we went to watch one of his races a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty neat. They set up a loop that's a little less than a mile and they just ride for an hour. After watching you kinda feel like you should be out doing something active. He ended up coming in 2ndplace but was at least 30 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack. I think that's pretty good! Anyway, I posted a couple of pix below - he's the skinny boy in the red jersey.
- radiotim took the cover off of the grill the other day and we found this:
- #42 on my list of 100 things now requires correction. I can no longer play the "I never had a Slip 'n Slide" card anymore because Tim's mom and dad got me one for my birthday. It's a double wide, too, so Tim and I can race. I'm sure it won't take long for a pine cone to rip a hole in it though.
- Last week, our league bowling team (the Pin Heads) faced my company's other team (the Kingpins). We are currently in first place, thanks to my generous handicap and some stellar bowling on the part of everyone else on our team. The Kingpins have a couple of very good bowlers (often achieving scores of 215+) but have been left back in the middle of the pack. There was a lot of smack talk leading up to the game and our team captain presented our team with the crazy, funny shirts shown below. Luckily, we split the series at 2 games each so no one had to go home with their tail between their legs.

First of all, that bowling shirt is WAY COOL! I used to be quite the bowler and sometimes I miss it. Where do you bowl?
Second, how awesome is a double-wide Slip 'n Slide?!? I want one for MY birthday, too!
And third - cute frog. Did you grill him?
We bowl at Dynamic Lanes in Sharpstown. I like that it's in the city limits so no smoking except in the bar area which is closed off from the rest of the place.
No, we didn't grill the frog. We were just entertained that he had turned hisself black to try to blend in with the cover.
He is a cute frog. And a fun shirt. And Mitch really is skinny. Now, the slip n slide. You should report back once you've tried it. I should add on my 100 things that while I did own one as a child I could never work it properly. Fall 'n Stick...that was mine.
You have to turn the water on, cjh... ;-)
