Weekend Update*

Husband and I had a very busy, and very fruitful, weekend. We had our first shower in CS and everyone was soooo generous. It always amazes me that people who barely know us can be so darn generous and caring. We are very thankful for that and I remind myself constantly how blessed we are in that respect.

Baby Girl is going to be very well dressed. Sooo many cute outfits. Katielady was right when she told me I probably wouldn't need to register for many clothes. Who doesn't like buying little girl outfits?

One of the most interesting things we got was a five foot giraffe. No, not five-footed, 5 foot tall! No kidding. Courtesy of Husband's mom. I'll have to take a picture and post it. Very nice addition to our safari themed nursery.

My dad and stepmom also came to the shower. Beforehand I was able to visit with my dad about my bad review at work and he made me feel better about the whole thing. Most of what he told me was the same stuff my husband had been telling me, but since Dad is in a management position I needed his take on things. So my plan now is to let them know what my limits and expectations are for my job and if they can't work with that, then it will be time to re-evaluate.

We also took yesterday to visit some day care centers since we need to get on a waiting list pdq. We only visited two, but they are both quite nice and comparably priced, so we just have to make a decision now. I can't say that I'm any more thrilled at having to leave her with someone else at such a young age, but right now I don't know what other options we have.

*Where's that hottie Tina Fey when you need her?

Excellent! I'm glad you had a successful shower, people's generosity can be very overwhelming, and it never ceases to amaze me. Glad you got a good start.

And I hear ya on talking to dad about work and reviews. I do the same thing (my dad is also an engineer....Drew is in trouble!) and it always makes me feel better.

Good luck with the child care. I may need some advice on that in the future.
